Kill Your TV - save your soul

What happened to VR? This makes my interaction with the internet look really boring...

So Neo... I mean, Keanu... I mean, Johnny saves the world from the oppressive destruction of humanity created by capitalism married with technology... Wait, that is Neo? no... He's fighting robots... no that's Keanu... No, Keanu is a robot... (check him out in Much Ado About Nothing or Brahm Stoker's Dracula... or don't.)

At any cost, the advancement of technology has often pushed man to question his connection to humanity, civility, to spirituality. There is a general sense of loss of that which is human, right, or righteous. And they aren't wrong.
When the Industrial Revolution took over the world major changes were made. Among the changes to the family, to many countries' forms of government and economics, and to communication/transportation were changes to social structure and spirituality. This was as much an era of awakening and enlightenment as was the era of awakening or of enlightenment. Post-modernism perspectives not quite possible before developed as a backlash to the fundamental change to life. But what does that mean?

Well, what it means is that as things change people start to question who they are. And rightly so... Good men stand tall (all two or three of them) and bad men stand taller... and all the in-betweeners get exploited or watch others get exploited and have to figure out what that funny feeling inside is. It's no surprise that society had to question their morals. But religion may have it's influence on people and policy, it is only politics that bears lasting sway on mankind anymore. The result? A mass of experiments in politics.... (Check this out! What is the best form of government? Or Political Systems) (I also think you oughta read Capitalism, Socialism, and Communism by Joseph A. Schumpter

Are these experiments anything other than an attempt to make society live the kind of life that they feel God wants them to live (remember, America used to believe in a God when it started its republican democracy experiment)? . It's not fair to treat people badly - then we'll all vote to make others play fair - we'll make everyone play nice without their ability to choose - we'll stop everyone from playing and then tell everyone that they are being dealt with fairly... Who's right?

More specifically, as life changes with the new changes to the world via the internet we see more and more changes to political systems... Not that anything original is happening, but people are calling for experimenting with other political systems... It's like a "typical" college experience joked about on TV. The heat of American debates are on the current president and his ties to Socialism.

Are we living in a time that is changing because of a shift in society - like that created by the rise of Industrialism... Or is an increase of connectivity raising the level of awareness of mankind? As we sense holes in our experiments are we too quick to jump ship or not quick enough? Are our decisions informed or ill-informed? All these questions and changing surroundings make me dizzy. I end up wanting to pray more and filter through blogs less - but will that help any?
